Once you have completed this class you will be provided with a proof of completion certificate, please bring this with you to your state-required exam.<\/p>\n<h5>Step 2: Paperwork and Background Check<\/h5>\n<p>Now that you have passed your state required <a href=\"https:\/\/notarycouncil.org\/revamp\/become-a-notary-online-class\/\">6-hour notary training class<\/a> you will need to compile the below list of items. These items will all need to be brought with you to your state exam.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the Notary Application &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sos.ca.gov\/notary\/forms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Download Notary Application<\/a><\/li>\n<li>2&#8243; x 2&#8243; color passport photograph of yourself<\/li>\n<li>Life Scan Background Check &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/fingerprints\/locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Live Scan Locations<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A check, cashiers check, or money order for $20.00 made payable to the Secretary of State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Step 3: Take State Exam and File Oath of Office<\/h5>\n<p>Now that you have completed your paperwork along with completing your <a href=\"https:\/\/notarycouncil.org\/revamp\/become-a-notary-online-class\/\">mandatory notary class<\/a> you are ready to take the California State Exam.\u00a0 This exam is offered only by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cpshr.us\/exams\/notary\/info.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">CPS Consulting<\/a> and their scheduled can be found here: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cpshr.us\/exams\/notary\/schedule.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">view state exam schedule<\/a>.
